Don’t go near this hosting with a barge pole. Like many of the others on here I used to recommend it to everyone including my granny’s cat. Then it was bought over and became a huge stinky pile of poo. You can see the different ifRead More you look at the old reviews on here, June 2016 the reviews are green.. the next one a few months later and they’re all red. I miss Site5. They were awesome.Less
Predrag Alimpic,
Couldn’t agree with you more: We were with Site5 for 5 years and we where very happy with it until they recently sold out. From best to worse over night.

they had one of the best Customer service, in October everything went down the drain! Customer services are USELESS!!!

no commitment, no resolutions, just template answers from their customer care stuff which by the way have no competence as their previous service providers.

Site5 was the best hosting company. I had a reseller plan with them for 14 years and never ever even looked around for other providers, plans or price because their service was simply flawless and their support was awesome. Then lRead Moreast year EIG bought them out and boy the service and support have both gone down the drain in to the depth of gutters.

An average support ticket answer time is 8 days. Yes you read it right, its 8 days and you can confirm that with their online chat. Online chat is only there to tell you that they cannot provide any ETA on your support request or why your site is not longer working of your backup restore request or pretty much anything. They are only there to say, we don’t know anything and the support queue is very long.

After 14 years I finally had to migrate out of site5. Emails were not getting delivered and I lost 4 customers because of that.

To the old owner… you suck for selling it out! Please open a new hosting business and share the name

geseth,
Hi Mansoor – who did you end up moving to? I’m having the same issues, support is desperately slow to respond/react, so much so that I’m thinking about leaving Site5 too. Thanks

Lots of restrictions. Payment method fraudulent. Charge when automatic payment is disabled. Very slow support.

I asked to have an upgrade of Python so that I could installed Django and it was denied. Their shared server has Python 2.7, and Python 3 was denied to be installed, which has been the standard version for many years (you are giveRead More a jail shell that restricts most installation). Their basic plan is way too restrictive. You have to get a non-shared server to get any serious work done there and pay lots of money. There is also no way to stop a payment once the invoice is done six weeks in advance. Turning off automatic payment does nothing once the invoice is done and there is no way to remove a credit card once added to do payments.Less

Have been a customer for 5 years, hosted about 150 websites using their service. It used to be an excellent company, I could not imagine using another hosting company. Now it is a complete and utter nightmare, it’s like it has becRead Moreome a completely different company (which is actually the case since it was acquired by EIG) and will cancel and leave them a.s.a.p.
Lots of downtime, the new backend is a disaster and their customer service used to be excellent now it is the worst i’ve ever seen. I give them 0 stars, would give negative stars if I could. STAY AWAY!!!

I EMPLORE YOU. AS A CURRENT CUSTOMER OF SITE 5. DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES! THEY’RE GARBAGE.

Their service has gone into a black hole, not down hill, not slightly worse, literally it’s gone, it’s useless, they’re no good anymore, you will waste your money and need another provider if ANY of their services have issues, whiRead Morech now with their team is quite common. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY ANYMORE, DO NOT BUY THEIR SERVICES. They deserve to go out of business, plain and simple, they’ve given up on clients and I have never been more frustrated with a company. You will get canned responses, you will not receive any service, they will promise to look into things (things like adding a new domain to your plan but not being able to because their system is messed up) and you will be with a useless hosting plan.Less

Overview

Site5.com – Can’t Beat the Services and Location Options

Site5.com is one of the most established web hosting companies on the market today.  They have been providing their customers with high quality web hosting for years, yet remain one of the more advanced services available. When you sign up with a new account with Site5, they will move all your sites from any other hosting solution over, free of charge.  This is a great feature since web hosting transfers can be tricky, especially if you haven’t done them in the past. One of the best features of this hosting company is that they have servers in data centers around the world.  This means you can have your site hosted in a location that is near where your visitors are from. With this option your visitors will likely notice that your site loads more quickly and is much more responsive. They have also customized their control panel (still using the industry standard cPanel) to help make it easier for newer users.  If you’re already used to the traditional cPanel setup, it is not difficult to learn this new system at all and in most cases you will likely enjoy the added usability.

Uptime & Reliability

99.9% uptime with a money back guarantee

Like most web hosting companies, Site5 offers a full 99.9% uptime guarantee.  In addition, however, they guarantee that if your site goes down, they will refund you the money.  This is a nice little perk, though in most cases it is not something you will ever take advantage of (this is a good thing). In the event that you do run into trouble, Site5 has 24/7/365 live chat and email technical support.  They also offer phone support during normal business hours. There have been very few complaints about reliability from users of this company, and given the fact that they have so many different data centers, it is clear that they are able to provide exceptional reliability.

Features & Services

Nearly endless list of high quality services available

Be careful when you start browsing through their list of available services, it seems like it goes on forever.  Some of the more important options include unlimited disk space and bandwidth on all their packages (even the entry level ones).  All their packages also include free backups, a 99.9% uptime guarantee, easy website builder and much more. You can only have one website hosted on their lowest level package, but once you move up from that, they offer unlimited domain and website hosting. If you aren’t 100% happy with the services you get from Site5, they offer a full 45 day money back guarantee, which will give you plenty of time to really evaluate their services properly.

Pricing

Fair pricing for all levels of services

Site5 offers a wide variety of differnet web hosting services to choose from.  Their entry level package starts at $4.95 per month, which is about average these days.  The prices go up based on the type of services you need. In addition to their popular shared hosting services, they also offer managed and unmanaged virtual servers, which are priced quite nicely.  For example, if you are a web expert and go with an unmanaged VPS, you can get a dual core, 1 gig of memory setup for just $25 per month.  It is $50 for the same setup under the managed option. It is important to note that their prices do change based on where you select to have your website hosted.  For example, a basic package in Dallas Texas starts at just $4.95 per month.  That same package is $5.95 in San Francisco, and $9.95 in Joao Pessoa, Brazil.  Make sure you are looking closely at where you want your site hosted.  It is often worth the extra money to get the location you want, but in some cases it is better to just go with the lower price.

Summary

sales@site5.com

This is an obvious choice for anyone who is picky about where their websites are hosted.  They have almost two dozen different data centers to choose from, giving you more options than almost any other hosting company available today.  They also have a long history of providing great customer service and excellent support. <p><b>Pros</b></p> <ul class=”checkmarks”> <li>Free site migration from old hosting companies</li> <li>Nearly two dozen data centers to choose from, located around the world</li> <li>Unlimited bandwidth and disc space</li> </ul> <p><b>Cons </b></p> <ul class=”icon-x”> <li>Limited to one site on their ‘hostBasic’ plan</li> <li>Some customers have complained that their entry level hosting is somewhat slow</li> </ul>
